For over 30 years, the annual White Sands Balloon Invitational makes for an unforgettable weekend of ballooning magic and festivities. The Balloon Invitational will take place at White Sands National Park and the Ed Brabson Balloon Park in Alamogordo, New Mexico, weather permitting, on the weekend of Saturday, September 20, 2025 and Sunday, September 21, 2025.
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the balloons will lift off at White Sands National Park at approximately 7 am. Park fees will apply. The gates will open at 6 am.
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the balloons will lift off at Ed Brabson Balloon Park (700 Lavelle Road) at 7 am. Entry is free!
The Ed Brabson Balloon Park is 24 acres of flat green grass, some of the greenest you will find in Alamogordo. The park is located at 700 Lavelle Road near Alamogordo Drive just west of the Charlie Lee Memorial Relief Route.
Please note that parking is not permitted at the Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility parking lot or its adjacent ditches and property.
