2025 FAA Waiver & Flying Events Ops Manual

The 2025 FAA Waiver for AAAA allows “registered” pilots to fly at lower altitudes than listed in the FARs. These minimum safe altitudes are only in effect during scheduled AAAA flying events. As part of the waiver process, AAAA is required to collect and verify certain information about the pilot and their aircraft.

COU – Crew Waiver

All crew (passengers) must sign a Certificate of Understanding, indicating that they have been briefed on and understand the conditions of the waiver. This is also an electronic process and must be done on the day of the flight. Click on the button below to access the online certificate.

LOA – Letter of Agreement

AIBF Balloon Landing Task Force SURVEY (Optional)

AIBF is undertaking to more systematically assess where pilots land in order to be able to more proactively work with landowners and municipalities to encourage and facilitate balloon landings.  Using this survey tool will help generate a more complete and accurate picture of where we land.
