AAAA recognizes members and others for the work they do in promoting the sport of ballooning, education about the sport of ballooning, volunteering hours about and beyond, and other areas. Here is a list of those awards with links to more information and the recipients.
Sid Cutter Award
This award is presented annually in Sid Cutter’s name by the AAAA to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the sport of hot air ballooning. The recipient is someone whose extraordinary dedication has benefited the hot air ballooning community as a whole, not just AAAA, and whose actions and efforts are not otherwise widely or publicly recognized. Bob Ruppenthal Education Award
This award is presented annually to a AAAA member who has contributed significantly to the education of others in balloon safety and operation. (read more)
Allan Jones Volunteer Award
This award is presented to an AAAA member who has contributed significantly in time and effort to the operation of the club and ballooning in the community. (read more)
“Slim” Rawley Crew Award
This award is presented to an AAAA member who is a balloon crew member who has contributed significantly in time and effort to the operation of the club and ballooning in the community. (read more)
